What is K-Tape?

K-Tape is an elastic, breathable cotton tape with a skin-friendly, latex-free acrylic adhesive. It is applied like a "second skin" without restricting mobility and is certified as a Class I medical device. It is manufactured in Japan under ISO supervision by Nitto Denko – the pioneer who developed the first kinesiology tape in 1984.

Typical application areas & timing

  • Acute muscle and joint injuries (after initial inflammatory phase)

  • Application time: 3-5 days, often >1 week with correct technique. Wait at least 1 hour before exercising; pat the tape dry after showering; do not blow-dry.

Application tips for your patients

  • Prepare skin dry, free of oil and hair.
  • Do not touch the adhesive side of the tape with your fingers.
  • After application, rub vigorously to activate the adhesive.
  • When removing, pull slowly in the direction of hair growth, stretching the skin.

Contraindications:open wounds, severe dermatitis, allergy to acrylic, acute infections or decompensated heart/renal insufficiency.
